David grew up on building sites. Literally. He was born into a family of builders that spans generations. Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, David worked in the family business and was helping out on sites from as early as the age of 10.
Once David completed high school, he entered the Bachelor of Construction Management (Building) course at the University of Newcastle, which had implemented Problem Based Learning teaching techniques and Competency Based Assessment strategies. These techniques and strategies allowed the graduates of this course to excel in the industry. The course also obtained international accreditation, which set it apart from many others around the world.
Upon completion of the Bachelor’s Degree, David continued to work in the family business and evolved the organization to include new sectors of commercial and residential construction as well as developing a department that marketed itself to large client base property management firms. In this department, David and his team serviced clients that managed 20,000 properties by providing renovation and maintenance services to the extensive portfolios.
Once David had set up the department for success, he moved to Crestway Constructions Ltd. to sink his teeth into larger projects that included high rises, aged care facilities, and special use buildings. His project management skills allowed him to complete several high profile projects and award-winning complexes.
The opportunity came to move to Canada 7 years ago and David joined Keg Restaurants as a Project Manager and successfully completed 11 projects in Ontario and British Columbia. He obtained accolades for the quickest, most cost-efficient and most operationally effective restaurants during his tenure at Keg Restaurants Ltd.
After departing the Keg, David joined Browns Restaurant Group as the Director of Construction and Development. In this role, he developed a completely new team comprising of 10 talented individuals to allow Browns to grow into a world-class restaurant franchise business. David was involved in the strategic and developmental process as the Director and oversaw the design process of 20 restaurants and construction process of 17.
